We have a prophet! How incredible is THAT?!?!

Something that I love about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is how we have a living prophet who speaks to us today.  He helps us to know the way back to God.  He is the literal mouthpiece of Jesus Christ so that we can know what God would have us to do in these latter-days.  I’m so thankful for President Thomas S. Monson and that he truly is a servant of our Lord.  If you don’t believe me, here are some excellent quotes that help us to know how truly WONDERFUL he is! 🙂

“Faith precedes the miracle. It has ever been so and shall ever be. It was not raining when Noah was commanded to build an ark. There was no visible ram in the thicket when Abraham prepared to sacrifice his son Isaac. Two heavenly personages were not yet seen when Joseph knelt and prayed. First came the test of faith–and then the miracle. Remember that faith and doubt cannot exist in the same mind at the same time, for one will dispel the other. Cast out doubt. Cultivate faith.”

“Whatever our calling, regardless of our fears or anxieties, let us pray and then go and do.”

“Sometimes we let our thoughts of tomorrow take up too much of today. Daydreaming of the past and longing for the future may provide comfort but will not take the place of living in the present. This is the day of our opportunity, and we must grasp it.”

“Love is the catalyst that causes change. Love is the balm that brings healing to the soul.”

“May I suggest that . . . you set aside time every day to find out for yourself if the Book of Mormon is a true book, for it will change your heart and change your life. If you seek this knowledge ‘with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ,’ I promise that you will receive an answer.”

“Come from your wandering way, weary traveler. Come to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Come to that heavenly haven called home. Here you will discover the truth. Here you will learn the reality of the Godhead, the comfort of the plan of salvation, the sanctity of the marriage covenant, the power of personal prayer. Come home.”

See?  He is pretty amazing! And I will say again that I love that we have a prophet today.  I am so happy that I can gain further knowledge on what I must do in order to come unto Christ more and more each and every day, and a prophet helps me to know what I must do.  It’s true!
